Fulton Public Schools Foundation - Empowering Students through Investment
The Fulton Public Schools Foundation was established in 2003 to create a private commitment to public education as a resource for matching the educational needs with the resources of dedicated contributors.
The Fulton Public Schools Foundation is a non-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose purpose is to accept non-public funding to assist with specific school district programs and projects.
Strong public schools are an investment in our community and our future. Thanks to support from parents, alumni and community members, Fulton Public School Foundation is on a path to better sustain and expand programs that make Fulton Public Schools places of outstanding educational experiences. Now more than ever, private contributions are making a difference in public education.
On Wednesday, the Club heard from some students from Fulton Middle School who are benefiting from a Grant from the Foundation. The grant, in its third year, allows FMS special education students to run a coffee shop which provides coffee, tea, and hot chocolate to FMS Teachers and staff.
Students are learning life skills which will help them transition to post-secondary life. The students open the shop and complete learning objectives during one class period a day. The empowerment given to these students will enable them to operate a successful business, which they demonstrate through the profitability of the FMS coffee shop.
